Little Cypress Junior High earns 78 UIL Medals

Little Cypress Junior High brought home 78 medals from UIL Solo and Ensemble Contest on Friday, February 6. Students earned 42 Gold, 8 Silver and 28 Bronze medals.

Emily St. John played a Class One solo and received a Gold Medal. Class Two, or Silver Medal winners were: Lauren Purgahn, Constantina Hug, Patrick Herfurth, Michael Chen, Slade Ferguson, Blaire Adams, Mary Dukes and Bruce Burns.

Class Three soloists receiving Bronze Medals were: Callie Choate, Ashton Brock, Blythe Ferguson, Lincoln Causey, Marlon Sanders, Bryce Gengo, J.R. Aguinaga, Sophie Braud, Brianna Davis, Hannah Slaten, Luke Mayeux, Joseph Bloodworth, Brennon Moore, Chris Boaz, Scott Sawyer, Immanuel Brooks, Andrew Usie, Jackie Payne, Justin Huff, and Hannah Foreman. Bridgett Bonneaux and Alex Borel received two Bronze medals; one each for piano, another for keyboard percussion – Bonneaux and snare drum – Borel.

Three ensembles also brought home medals. Blaire Adams, Matthew Kovacevich, Nathan McKinnley, and Jackie Payne won a Bronze Medal for their Class Three Trombone Quartet.

Two ensembles won Gold Medals. Members of the first ensemble are: Blythe Ferguson, Hannah Foreman, Sophie Braud, Malayzia Winbush, Coby Roddy, Hannah Slaten, Luke Mayeux, John Allen, Bryce Gengo, Jonas English, Blake LeBlanc, Andrew Usie, Joseph Bloodworth, Jackie Payne, Blake Fuss, Bruce Burns, Trent Manuel, Michael Chen, Patrick Herfurth, and Gabriel Ruppert.

The second ensemble included: Ashton Brock, Callie Choate, Emily St. John, Brianna Davis, Briana Wiggins, Mary Dukes, Constantina Hug, Lauren Purgahn, Marvis Brown, J.R. Aguinaga, Emily Litz, Jeanny Phillips, Blaire Adams, Tyler Smith, Lawson Cox, Tommy Brzezinski, Slade Ferguson, Bridgett Bonneaux, Brennon Moore, Marlon Sanders, and Alex Borel.
